The Accord Governorship Candidate in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has described the former Governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as one of Ibadan’s finest and a leading light in politics and tradition.
Chief Adelabu who is the Agbaakin Parakoyi of Ibadanland stated this in his birthday message made available to journalists by one of his media aide. He eulogised Senator Rashidi Ladoja for being a good ambassador of Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria.
“I heartily celebrate our father, leader and political idol of high international repute, Ibadan high Chief and exemplary statesman, former Governor of Oyo State, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja. I thank the Almighty Allah who has preserved our role model, mentor and an administrator per excellence to witness yet another year on earth, hale and hearty. Unarguably, it’s a privilege from God for someone like him to be gradually approaching 80 years and still remain relevant, energetic and highly intelligent. I thank God for his life”, Adelabu said.
“Baba Ladoja is a rallying figure who laid a solid foundation of good governance in Oyo state for other incoming administration to emulate. Senator Ladoja virtually has blue print for every developmental agenda in Oyo state within his tenure in 2003 and 2007 as Governor of Oyo State.” Adelabu stated.
“His leadership tenet and legacy as former governor of our dear State has laid an outstanding template for all others to follow and learn from his acumen and blueprint which is still very much valid till today. The rich history of the Adelabu and Ladoja has been in existence since the days of my grandfather and may it peak in Accord as I vie to become the next Governor of Oyo State”, Adelabu stated.
The former Deputy Governor of The Central Bank of Nigeria also wished the Ibadan High Chief Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja many more fruitful years on earth and pray for the grace of God to attain the enviable position of Olubadan throne. He prayed that Senator Ladoja become the first former Governor ever to become an Olubadan after witnessing a former honourable (Oba D.T. Akinbiyi) and a former Senator (the reigning Oba Lekan Balogun) sit on the throne.
May the Almighty Allah continue to bless you as you clock 78 and may our rich history continue to blossom to produce more landmark successes in Oyo State.
